Grassroots International Rally to Stop the Execution of Troy Davis September 20th!!!

We are calling on All Activists, Artists, Grassroots, Secular, Non-secular and Every Day People to Organize and Take to Streets in Solidarity to Stop the scheduled execution of Troy Anthony Davis AN INNOCENT MAN who is scheduled to die on September 21st at 7pm in the State of Georgia!

STOP THE EXECUTION! FREE TROY DAVIS!

On March 28, 2011, the US Supreme Court failed to take up the appeal of Troy Anthony Davis, the Savannah, Ga. man whose scheduled execution has been halted three times in the past because of the growing evidence and public belief in his innocence.

Chatham County Superior Court Judge Penny Freesemann signed the death warrant for Davis on Tuesday Sept. 6th, marking the fourth time since 2007 that the state has a scheduled an execution for Davis. The U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way for the execution in March by rejecting an appeal by Davis.

Department of Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens has set 7 p.m. at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson to carry out the sentence.

Meanwhile, the state Board of Pardons and Paroles has scheduled a 9 a.m. Sept. 19 clemency hearing to allow Davis’ attorneys one final attempt to delay or commute the sentence, board spokesman Steven Hayes said Wednesday.

Troy Davis is an African American on death row in Georgia. Davis was convicted in the 1989 killing of a police officer despite what Amnesty International calls “overwhelming doubts about his guilt.” No physical forensic evidence was presented at Davis’ trial, and 7 of the 9 non-police witnesses have recanted their testimony, with at least two saying they were pressured by police to finger Davis as the killer.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

1. Organize Rallies in you area

2. Set up teach-ins

3. Sign the Amnesty USA petition, asking the GA Board of Pardons & Parole to grant Troy clemency, and forward it to others :

If you’re gonna do it…

This joint was recorded while back, but found it’s way omitted from the upcoming Fresh Heir project… It since has only been released thru HiJackingMusic.com as a special series of music released during the holiday season… Shout out to Cyrus Tha Great for the beat, and Bret Phillips for engineering the vocals as well as my HJM affiliation…

I love this game…

With the NBA season past the halfway mark and in full bloom, I am in my splendor. Not since the Jordan Bulls era, has there been this much excitement in the NBA. Recently we saw Melo and Billups go to the Knicks, resurrecting NY from the ashes, and arguably the most hated team in history (besides the bad-boy Pistons) in the Miami locker room, with D. Wade, King James and Chris Bosh (who I think it the most over-rated role player in the league). The Spurs are reminding everyone that they are still a dynasty team, while the Lakers are on autopilot, winning some and losing some, but still maintaining respect as defending champs, and NOT to be slept on.  The Oklahoma City Thunder (formerly the Seattle Supersonics) are the best young team I’ve seen in a while, playing solid behind 2 stars (Durant & Westbrook), destined for perennial playoff appearances, and potentially the eventual ring or two.  All that said, most of my excitement stems from my 2 childhood favorites, the Chicago Bulls and my homeland Celtics, once again holding down the eastern conference.  They gave us the BEST PLAYOFF SERIES in basketball history in 2009, and I hope they will meet again this year, as I doubt they won’t give us the same.  Derrick Rose is probably the best floor general in the game, with a gang of consistent role players including Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah and my favorite former 6th man, Luol Deng (who has been patchy, but still a contributing force).  The Boston Celtics, are by far the best team in the league, and quite possibly, the best ever assembled. Boston’s benching 6-10 are good enough to rival some starting lineups (Delonte West, Jeff Green, Glen Davis, Jermaine Oneal, Nenad Krstic).  The Celtics have repeatedly beaten the dreaded Miami (super)Heat, traded wins with LA and the Spurs, and have shown no signs of slowing down, even after the (STUPID) trade of Kendrick Perkins, and recent injury of Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis. The big 4 are still going strong and are headed toward championship number 18 with steady resolve. As long as the Bulls don’t find some extra lightning, and San Antonio isn’t extra rested if/when we meet them in the finals, it’s all destined to happen.

It’s the year of the green baby.

Clan Destined “Let Me Know” feat. Arablak

Originally included in the pool of tracks for Clan D’s upcoming LP “The Self Titled”, after hearing the incredible collection of songs compiled for the project, even I determined this track was a potential to be omitted when trimming the album.  Although I think this is definitely a good song, there just happens to be better material Amdex and DT have in store for Jan 22.

I hope this gives listeners an idea of how dope the rest of the music is…

Please visit www.clan-d.net and support these guys by purchasing “The Self Titled” on Jan 22…

New single from Illastrate :: ‘Inner G’

My brother Illastrate is one of dopest producers I have the pleasure of knowing and is on the verge of releasing his first solo instrumental project (on his birthday), December 29 2010, titled “Eddie Coleman’s Friday Night Theme Music“.  If you’ve ever heard an Illastrate beat, you already know this is gonna be an event worth following.  If not, time to do some serious catching up.  Research his track record at Discogs and grab Boog Brown’s ‘Grind Season Vol 1‘ mixtape as he produced the lions share of her instant classics.

In preparation for the Friday Night Theme Music release, he has given us an advance taste of the heat in this track titled “Inner G” feat Lyric Jones and Fatima Washington swooning to the rhythm of Illa’s melodic mastery…

Beatz and Lyrics 2 Go (A3C Mixtape) RV Edition

Although there has been criticism of less than anticipated involvement of Atlanta’s hip-hop scene in this year’s A3C festival, the behind the scene activity was by far the most important and potent contribution.  Spearheaded by Jay Force (Beatz & Lyrics Show WFRG 89.3FM) and Amond Jackson (Salem Psalms / Dynamite Brothers / Beatz & Lyrics Show WFRG 89.3FM) and sponsored by UniqueSquared.com and KevinKnottingham.com, a first of it’s kind mixtape was recorded on site, in a mobile studio, setup in an RV right outside the venue.  This 72-hour session was a constant ball of energy, as ATL underground hip-hop veterans, newcomers, imports and locals collided sonically, resulting in a collection of head nodders and instant classics.

With features such as myself, J-Live, Homeboy Sandman, Binkis Recs, 4-Ize, Camp-Lo, Boog Brown, Punchlyne, Senor Kaos, Headkrack, an exclusive reunion on track from the legendary Artifacts, and many more.  Production including Amond Jackson, Floyd the Locsmif, Black Spade, Supa Dave West, Rhemattic, Amdex, King-I-Divine, Paten Locke to name a few…

The Lost Beats (good riddance)…

So earlier this year, while moving, I lost track of my SD cards and accidentally wiped about 7 years of MPC beats. I hadn’t tracked a good portion of them, and frankly don’t remember a good handful. The best ones were definitely the most recent, that also happen to be the ones I never tracked or recorded to mp3. Before I moved to GA, I made it a habit of recording every beat I did. So I have most of those earlier beats, but frankly, those are by far the bottom of the creative barrel. Some folks might like them, but I really could care less for them. After listening to them, I imagine most of you that have known me long enough will understand why I never really pulled out my production hat until recently. Some of them are worthy, but in my opinion, about 85% of them are really bad.

With all that said, today being my birthday, I offer a pretty crappy gift to you all… Here’s the shallow end of my lost beat pool.
